I can not connect to the DirectFtp network when starting DirectFtp, what should I do?

| First you need to make sure that your DirectFtp is not blocked by a firewall installed on your computer or your local network. If that's the case, please configure the firewall to open the port 6628 for DirectFtp, you may need to ask your local network administrator to do this for you. If it can not solve your problem, you can try to set DirectFtp's RMI port to 80, then click "OK" button to save the changes and exit DirectFtp. After that, run DirectFtp again. If DirectFtp still can not connect to DirectFtp network, you may need to add some remote DirectFtp nodes. How to send a file directly to some one else on the DirectFtp network?
|
|||
|
First go to Sessions -> New to load this file into a new session, which will appear immediately in your "Outbox". Second, click the new added session to highlight it, then go to Transfer -> Start to start the outgoing file transfer, and you will be prompted for the ID of the user to whom the file will be sent. You can enter it directly if you know the user's ID or pick it up from a list, after that, following the instructions on the screen, your file will be sent to that user in seconds.

First click the tab "File Sharing", then click the tab "Downloads" and you will see a list of available downloads for you on the DirectFtp network Select the file you want to download, then go to File Sharing -> Download to start the download process.

|
First click the tab "File Sharing", then click the tab "Uploads" and you will see a list of files you have uploaded onto the DirectFtp network. Second, you need to select a category under the "Public" directory, or create a group under the "Groups" directory, click it and highlight it. Then, go to File Sharing -> Upload File to upload a file on your computer onto the network. Follow the instructions on the screen, you need to supply a description of your file to give others some information about your file.

|
To make your files visible for everyone on the DirectFtp network, you must upload it into any category under the "Public" directory (also called "Public Category"), then it is public and open for anyone else on the DirectFtp network, anyone can see it and download it to their computers.

Then right-click the new group with your mouse and a popup menu comes up, select "Upload File" to upload a file into this private group, or select "Add User" to add a user into this private group and this user will have the right to access and download all the files in this private group.

First right-click the group and a popup menu will come up, select "Add User" and a dialog box will appear, you can either enter a user's ID or select it from a list of online users. Then click "OK" button, you are done. That's easy.

|
First right-click the user with your mouse and a popup menu will come up, select "Delete" and a confirmation dialog will appear, select "Yes" and the user will be removed from the group.

First select the file you want to remove, then go to File Sharing -> Remove to remove the file from the DirectFtp network.

Go to System -> System Settings, the "System Settings" dialog will appear. Under the "General" tabs, there is a table with label "Remote Nodes", click an blank cell to enter data into it. After you enter all the data of the new node, click the "OK" button to finish.

How to chat with someone else on the DirectFtp network?
|
|||
|
Go to Chat -> Start, a dialog will pop up to prompt you for the user you want to chat with, enter the user's ID or pick it up from the online user list, click "OK", and your chat request will be sent to the user. The user can choose either to accept your request or to decline your request. If the user accept your request, a chat dialog box will appear on the screen, and you can view chatting messages and type in your message in the chat box.

How to remove the advertising banners from my DirectFtp?
|
|||
|
The advertising banners help users like you to use DirectFtp without registering it, if you don't want DirectFtp to show these advertising banners, you must register it with us. To do that, please go to Help -> Register, which will take you to the registration page of DirectFtp. After you get the registration code, go to System -> System Settings, on the "System Settings" dialog box, click the "Registration" tab, then enter your registration code into the "Registration Code" textbox and click the "OK" button. Shut down your DirectFtp and start it again, and the advertising banners will be gone.
